After high school, when they are eighteen years old, they must join the Israel Defense Force (IDF). Druze who are originally from neighboring Arab countries and Israel Arabs do not join the army. If war broke out between Israel and one of its Arab neighbors, the Druze might feel that they were attacking their own people. Men usually serve in the army for three years and women for two. They live on separate bases. Food, clothing, shelter, and even some entertainment are provided by the IDF. The soldiers receive only a little pocket money for themselves. Every other weekend, they are allowed to go home. On Saturday, their families can visit the base.

old school but well detailed. In fact, after covering several exercises, my hands actually feel quite invigorated. BUT THROUGH IT ALL THE AUTHOR CAME OUT ON TOP. We learn why through flashbacks and pieces of memories that Dmitri has kept buried for years. Points are made pointing to this throughout the book with citing not only events in history to back up their claim but signs and events in recent times, some as recently as last year. A thousand years later and Dimitri would still not allow another woman to become anywhere close to his heart. Being able to read it digitally is awesome. Oates bringing Lyle Gorch to such vivid, violent life: what other actor could man the machine gun in the film's climactic battle with such maniacal merriment as Warren Oates? I could go on and on - but the book tells it all, in depth and detail.
