All Valerie Austin has ever wanted is to be married and have a dozen children. At age 30, she finally falls in love, only to be left--practically at the altar--by her groom-to-be. Dejected, Valerie decides to go on a short-term mission trip to a Haitian orphanage. In Haiti she meets another American, Max Jordan, a 47-year-old doctor with a tragic past. As Valerie falls in love with the Haitian people--and especially the children in the orphanage--she keeps running into Max. They develop a warm friendship, which ultimately turns romantic. But Valerie feels more and more called to remain in Haiti while Max plans to return to the Statesbut what is God's plan for them?

Editorial : From Publishers Weekly Raney (Beneath a Southern Sky) submits a poignant inspirational romance about a doctor's change of heart and a woman's realignment of her dreams set against the backdrop of poverty-stricken Haiti. In the Chicago suburbs, Dr. Max Jordan builds a lucrative business giving Botox injections to wealthy women while fuming over his son Joshua's "wasted" charity work in Haiti with orphans. While volunteering at the orphanage, Jordan meets the lovely Valerie Austin, whose broken engagement and frustrated longing for children has led her to Haiti. Sparks fly, and soon Jordan is re-examining his life's work and his refusal to share his son's Christian faith. The novel has flaws, including a contrived conversion scene and some flat characters. Raney also has a penchant for overdoing the adverbs and adjectives ("The tabletops were artfully arranged wi

Great Author! After more than 100 books read from this author met my expectations.. Henry Jones, Senior.

All the books can stand alone, but this is one of my favorites - Mortimer and Blake dash about in the American southwest in a battle to fend off baddies old and new (and past and future, given the time travel!).. This simplifies the task of deciphering a text enormously, and obviates the necessity for a separate dictionary.
This sixth edition is not greatly different to the previous editions: minor errors have been corrected, a few small additions on minor points of grammar have been made. It’s an enormous gift then, when one of his former professors shows up and offers him a job. While this part wasn't necessary, my personal opinion is that if you include it then it should be accurate. I love this book! I wish more songbooks were formatted like this! Easy to read, compact, entire songs on one page for the most part so no page flipping.. Having spent three chap
