If you can still find this rare, out-of-print classic, I highly recommend it!. If you love bears and don't want to read about the enjoyment of killing them leave this book alone. But I had to wait a week because of slow shipping and that gave me some perspective on the book I wouldn't have otherwise had.
The Dawn Stag is a continuation of the Alban's fight for freedom against the encouraging Roman army. Honestly, I feel better at the keyboard and I think I sound better. That way, the Johns Hopkins Preface will make much more sense, and it will put some of the surprising new tidbits of Heaviside's life into proper perspective.
