From this book, as far as classical E&M goes, he was way way ahead of his time. Electro-Magnetic Theory (EMT) and it is very difficult reading, since unlike Feynman, Heaviside does not make his ideas "easy" to understand. The book is not just a read it quickly and you have what he has to say. Thank you.. This is the ultimate book on Bentley with an incredible gallery of Bentley b/w photos to the 1990s.. I would strongly recommend that the reader defer reading the Johns Hopkins Preface, until completing the entire book (including the Original Preface and Epilogue). The reproductions are reasonably accurate. I have Heaviside's 3 vol. It was easy and clear to read. This could be as a preface or an appendix. Make sure to draw free body diagrams when you do this. .
