I definitely would have deleted the book after the first couple of chapters if not for those reviews, also. I was willing to try it based on the "reviews," and because good study guides apart from the Blue Book are basically non-existent. It also has a section in one chapter that goes into marketing and in my opinion misinterprets some of the foundational concepts.
Two things I do like about the book are
1. No paleontologists returned to the uninviting Bahariya for decades, until Josh Smith, a graduate student, got the idea of going. I wish I could give it zero stars.. And I totally agree with the reviewer's comment about overpriced dinner parties. He likes birds, mice, cats, and snakes, but he's thoughtful enough to consider the potential negatives: "A cat would chase things. Anyone who doesn't like the methods used likely doesn't much care for TCVM either. I was wrong, and I'm delightfully surprised! You really can learn something new everyday! Thanks, Tobi!.
