Cultures based on Fighters and based on magic users who are the superpowers of the fantasy world and are background to a lot of the Known world setting (Karameikos was originally a thyatis colony, Glantri's war with air mages was with aplphatia before coming to Mystara). Strong female and male characters, working for US Special Forces. This was a very informative book regarding the difficulties law enforcement individuals face when confronted with what looks like "red flag" criminal behavior by individuals who are rarely in control of their behavior and who generaly do not respond to verbal commands. I wish i found this book earlier.. Robbin C. I use it in teaching color theory at the university. Despite a few clumsy moments and doors that are opened for no apparent reason (such as her up-in-the-air description of the death of William Holden), the book is replete with trenchant commentary and a wonderfully choice offering of various quotes from those who knew Warren Oates best: friends
