"Will you cuddle me?" asked Wilbur. "Will you give me a ride on your back?" "Soon," said Mother Tiger. Now that Wilbur has a new sister, his mother and father NEVER have any time for him. He waits and waits, but they always have to feed the baby, give her a bath, or find her rubber ducky. And, what good is she anyway? She can't even growl properly! Then Mama sings a special song to the new cub--a song about Wilbur--and puts the warm, soft, smiley baby in his arms. Suddenly, he can't wait to tell the world all about herEvery child who ever had a younger sister or brother--or is one--will want to read this loving story again and again.
Editorial : From Booklist Ages 3-5. Wilbur is a little tiger who needs a little attention from his parents--but they're too busy with the new baby. How can Mother give Wilbur a ride on her back when she has to give the baby a bath? And Father is too busy cleaning the den to climb a tree. Even when Wilbur tries to amuse himself with his friend Hippo, he gets into trouble for making too much noise. But when Wilbur hears his mother singing a lullaby with the words, "Wilbur wants to cuddle you," he realizes that he wants to be as involved with his sister as his parents are. Although sibling rivalry is a theme that has been reworked many times and in many ways, this book gets right to the heart of the way a small child thinks. The large paintings featuring endearing animals could have been more crisply reproduced, but this is a child-friendly take on a common problem. For larger collections. There is a touch of magic, a bit of nature lore, some more Ojibwe, and two very calm and uplifting encounters with the fantastic.
This is a very short and easy read, and it seems that it would be a very nice little treat for a reader just out of chapter books, especially for one with a willingness to move beyond the expected. great book kept me interested must read. I read alot. Well, Episode 2 does, not Episode 1. The pictures are "homey", rather than polished, but the information is priceless & accurate. This is must reading for any prospective MBA student who wants to understand the many benefits of doing an MBA online. I would feel comfortable reading it as a casual introduction to the Israeli-Egyptian conflict, for pleasure, or as the basis of a research project.
Anyone who has an interest in the Middle East; Israel and Egypt; the United States, its international relations, and its conflict with the USSR; or general global politics would enjoy this book. ISBN
