Most of all, they work. However this minor flaw comes from Clendinen's desire to portray every nuance of his characters - and by the end of the book, you feel you know these people.
I was able to relate to this book because my own father moved into Canterbury after Clendinen's mother passed away. Through meditations, the listener feels what each energy is like, and learns how the benefits of each meditation cross over into daily life. If you have a serious problem such as Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis, you're not going to get much useful information here.
My biggest complaint is that a majority of the book is just a condensed version of Perfect Health. I am more than half way through my Mechanical Vibrations class and so far it has been a huge help, especially given the lack of a solutions manual.
