There are few writers on prayer who speak with more authority than Metropolitan Anthony. Still, Thieves hits close enough to the mark that, as I was reading, the Lord moved me to put it aside and repent of the myriad ways I exalt my own comfort over His glory each day. Armando Torres' two books can be considered a miniature version of Castaneda's don Juan saga, providing much-needed corroboration of Castaneda's claims, and bringing in a few fresh insights as well. It took a little from the overall story, but not
